We've been together almost 8 years.  This comes with its ups-and-downs.  Hyphenated.  Not to be properly separated.  A sea of grey areas, middle-feelings: doubts and moments of total certainty.  Pure love.  There's no Hallmark card for this.  Only perfect moments of great volume and utter quiet.  My beautiful man.  When Customs Officers in small-town regional airports ask us if we're brothers, we correct him and say we're partners, best friends.  We're a family.

  3. Aw. You two are darling. What a lovely post to your guy... I feel like a creeper for having seen so many photos of him on this blog and never having 'conversed' with him. He should say hi on here sometime.

    Happy V-Day!

Laura - That's all t-shirt! No Photoshop, though! Because I am known to move shit around from time to time. Not here. Sunset + t-shirt + workin' my angles, guuurl.

  9. Hi Jason,

Just stumbled on your blog today. I hope you had a wonderful valentines day, you look like a sweet couple. I'm working on 8 years with my partner, Jeff, too. "Middle-feelings" -- I love that.

  10. Your words made me think about what @manonabudget said tonight. When his wife said "we've had our ups and downs" he corrected her with "ups and middles". Such a nice way of thinking about it!

  11. I'm finally catching up on your latest blogging. This is such a wonderful post. And you two are pretty much the most beautiful men in the world. It's a little ridiculous, actually.
